WSPA Soaring Seminar (July 18 -23)
   
     

The 34th Women Soaring Seminar and the 25th Anniversary of the WSPA will be celebrated July 18 to 23. Participants are encouraged to attempt SSA/FAI badge flights and accomplish cross country flights. Planned are dry lake landout opportunities as well as Lead-and-Follow and Dual Cross Countries.

You are highly encouraged to arrive by Saturday the 17th to participate in a special tour of Virginia City and then a trip to the Paiute Museum and a swim in Pyramid Lake on Sunday to help you acclimatize to our high desert altitude and climate. There will be time for some flying before and after tours. The official program begins Sunday 5:00 PM. Contact Neita Montague

Gerlach Dash (Aug 7-8)
   
     

The Gerlach Dash succeeds the Fallon Trophy Dash as the last big soaring event of the season. Sponsored by the Nevada Soaring Association, pilots fly from Air Sailing and finish 55.5 miles later on the Black Rock Desert just north of Gerlach.

Bruno's Country Club prepares a predictably fabulous banquet, followed inevitably by tall stories and good fun late into the night. Motel reservations at Bruno's in Gerlach (775) 557-2220.

Each year Air Sailing celebrates the end of the flying year with an awards banquet and silent auction. In addition to being our major annual fundraiser, it's a chance to recognize outstanding (and sometimes outlandish) accomplishments throughout the year.
